The Quran Burning

Okay, if you have not heard by now, there is a priest/pastor/whatever that is trying to hold a Quran burning this Saturday, Septermber 11. The Quran/Koran is the bible of the Islam religion. The reason this idiot (yes I think he is an idiot) is burning the Quran is because of the remembrance of the attacks on Septmber 11th. There are so many problems with this burning of the Islam bible. Let me count the ways:

1. Its the ending of Ramadan, the Muslim holiday that is most recognized around the world and its supposed to be peaceful. If you don't know, during Ramadan, Muslims fast and pray. The focus is suppose to be on Allah and to give all of their praises to him. To burn the Holy Quran on the day that Ramadan is ending is so disrespectful. I mean really though?!

2. Its like burning the bible. Yes, there has been plenty of bible burnings in this country and across the world. There were plenty of people who got upset at this and probbly still get upset when it happens. So if we, as Christians, know how it feels when someone burns our bible....how do you think Muslims would feel? (ugh this guy)

3. It can cause so many problems for Americans. So many countries already hate us and he is adding oil to water. We have troops in the Islam countries; they can be seriously harmed or killed. Plus there are so many American ppl living in different countries, they can be killed. And what about here in America?? People can be killed here or worse, another 9/11 type of situation. I am not trying to die for someone else's stupid interests.

4. We do have a freedom of speech in this country; but we also have a freedom of religion in this country. Which means that people in this country are free to practice any religion they choose or not to choose. So trying to hold a burning a specific religion's bible makes the United States seem as if we don't care about any other religion. I love the fact that there is freedom of religion here in this country. It what makes us different.

With all of these points being said, I dont fully agree with everything that is in the Quaran because its not my religion. Then again I don't agree with a lot of America's tactics either. No one is gonna agree with everyone in this world/country. We are all different for a reason. I know that the anniversey of the September 11th attacks is something meaningful to us but that does not mean that we should deestroy someone else beliefs because of what happened. I think this guy is really dumb to try and pull this off. I really hope that he decides to go against this and not do it. I really hope he does. He does not know how much he is putting our country/our people in danger because he wants to make some stupid point that is all in his head. I think that he should try to learn more about the religion first and then make a judgement and not go off what he has heard. The burning of the Quran still does not need ot happen though. Its just wrong.
